What is asbestos?

Asbestos is a mineral fibre that was once widely used in construction as a fire retardant and insulator because it provides excellent thermal stability, flexibility, durability and sound absorption properties. However, asbestos exposure has been linked to several health conditions, including lung cancer, mesothelioma and asbestosis (an inflammatory condition). Making asbestos removal vital if it is suspected to be in your vicinity.

It has been used extensively as an insulating material in buildings since the late 19th century. But its use was banned by law because of its harmful effects on human health in 1999. As it was so widely used, we are still finding properties that still have this harmful material present to this day. However, not all asbestos-containing materials are easily identifiable to the untrained eye as it is often hidden, and that is where our professional team come into their own.

Sadly, asbestos is one of the biggest workplace killers, with 20 deaths every week attributed to working with asbestos. Asbestos Gone work to a very strict code of practice and have all the necessary insurances to protect you.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Brilliant company to deal with. Very reasonable prices. The two workers that did my work are the best I have ever dealt with. They worked non stop for 3 days in very hot temperatures and not one complaint. They remained upbeat throughout. When the work was completed they tidied up and swept the site. Highly highly recommended.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great service! Me and my partner are buying a 1960s property and wanted some testing doing before we finalise the deal. Asbestos gone was round within a couple of days of me calling (Friday) had the results back on the Tuesday. Really happy with the speedy and professional service I received, they also gave me a quote for the removal that needs doing so will be using them when we move in 👍
