Our AIm
Our aim is simple – we want to assist in dealing with asbestos in your property.
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that has been widely used in construction and other industries due to its heat-resistant and insulating properties. It is made up of tiny fibres that can become airborne when disturbed and, when inhaled, can cause serious health problems, including lung cancer and mesothelioma. The use of asbestos has been banned in the UK since 1999.
Asbestos can be found in a variety of products, such as insulation, roofing materials, and flooring tiles. Asbestos-containing materials may look similar to non-asbestos materials, which can make it difficult to identify asbestos visually. However, if you suspect that a material may contain asbestos, it is crucial to have it surveyed and removed by a trained professional. Never attempt to remove or handle suspected asbestos-containing materials on your own.
The frequency of asbestos risk assessments depends on various factors, such as the age and condition of the building, previous asbestos-related activities, and changes in the property's use or structure. As a general guideline, it is recommended to conduct an initial asbestos risk assessment for older properties or buildings with known asbestos-containing materials. After the initial assessment, regular re-evaluations may be required every few years or whenever there are significant renovations, repairs, or suspected asbestos damage.
